What does a home care planning system cost?

Four things decide what a planning system costs you: the unit the price is counted per, what the base price includes, what implementation costs and how long the contract binds you.

A price per user, per employee and per client sounds similar but produces different totals. Always calculate with your own numbers, and with what happens when they change.

• Which unit is the price counted per: user, active employee or client?
• What is included: planning, routes, a mobile app for staff and follow-up?
• Is there a setup fee or a separate cost for implementation and training?
• What happens to the price when you grow or shrink?
• How long are the commitment and notice periods?

Caire has one price for the whole of planning: SEK 9,900 per month excluding VAT for 1–33 active employees. Each additional active employee then costs SEK 300 per month. The price is billed monthly.

Example: an organisation with 50 active employees pays SEK 9,900 + 17 × SEK 300 = SEK 15,000 per month excluding VAT.

The licence is rarely the whole cost. Also count the time it takes to bring in planning data, train planners and follow up the first weeks – and weigh that against what better planning can free up.

• Training and planners' time during implementation.
• What you follow up afterwards: planning time, travel time, care time, continuity and unassigned visits.
