Templates and your own content

Caire keeps a shared template library of categories and pages. Under Pages, template pages carry a Template badge, explained as a platform template shared by all organisations.

A template shows in your handbook until you hide it. You can read and preview it but not change it, because Caire manages the template library. To change the content, copy the template.

Show or hide a template

In the page list, choose Hide template on a template page that does not suit you. It then no longer shows in your handbook. Show template brings it back. The choice applies to your organisation only.

Copy a template to change it

Choose Copy and edit on the template page. Caire makes your own copy in your organisation and opens it in the page editor. The copy goes into your category with the same name as the template's. If you have no such category, the whole template category is copied with all its pages.

The copy keeps the template's publication status, and the template itself is hidden automatically so employees do not see two identical pages.

Copy from template on the dashboard or under Categories copies a whole template category with its pages in one go.

When Caire updates a template

The Notifications bell in the top bar shows messages saying that a template has been updated or that a new template is available. Click a notification to mark it as read.

A template you show without copying always shows Caire's latest version. A copy does not change by itself. Open the template, compare it with your copy and carry over what you want.
