A product of its own, with its own apps
The employee handbook gathers your organisation's routines and guidelines in one place. It is a separate product in Caire, apart from scheduling.
You write and manage the content in the handbook admin at handbook-admin.caire.se. Employees read the handbook at handbook.caire.se and under More › Handbook in the employee app. Both read the same content.
The handbook is for employees. Clients and relatives have no access to it.
Who may administer it
Administering the handbook takes three things: your organisation has the employee handbook product, during the trial or as a paid product, you are signed in to the right organisation, and your role has the permission to manage the handbook (org:handbook:manage).
Employees who read the handbook need the read permission (org:handbook:read). The server checks the permissions, so someone without them cannot reach the content even with a direct link.
Starter content from Caire
When your organisation gets access to the handbook, starter material is added automatically. It only adds what is missing and never overwrites your own categories, pages, branding or translations.
Caire also keeps a shared template library that shows in your handbook until you hide or copy the templates. Caire manages the template library.
Finding your way in the handbook admin
The side menu has Dashboard, Categories, Pages, Media and Settings. The dashboard shows published pages, drafts, categories, language statistics and recent activity, with quick links to create a page, categories, the media library and branding.
View handbook opens the handbook as employees see it. The Notifications bell in the top bar tells you when Caire has updated or added a template.
- Go through Caire's templates and decide what to show, hide or copy.
- Create the categories you need and write your own pages.
- Add a contact page and a page of frequently asked questions.
- Choose which pages need a read confirmation and create onboarding packages for new employees.
- Set up branding, languages and shortcuts.
